Abstract:

Business English correspondence is a carrier in foreign trade, which is associated closely with the international trade expertise. It has diverse forms , and is a tool of communication with distinctive cultural differences and legal characteristics. With the continuous development of international trade, business English correspondence，as a widely used communication tool,  plays an increasingly important role in international trade . Proper use of business English correspondence can convey formality and more importantly, they are documentary evidence of business activities . Correct writing can avoid commercial disputes, so translation of business English correspondence must be accurate and appropriate, otherwise it will affect the smooth development of foreign trade, or even bring a lot of inconvenience and loss to a company. Because of the prominent features of business English correspondence, we must master certain translation skills through practice to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Based on the discussion of business English correspondence, this paper summarizes practical translation principles and skills of business English correspondence through examples.

摘  要：

商务英语函电是以英语为载体,与国际贸易专业知识关联紧密,表现形式多样且涉及文化差异与法律特征的一种信息沟通手段。随着国际贸易的不断发展，外贸英语函电作为一种广泛的交流工具，在对外贸易中起到越来越重要的作用。外贸英语函电的正确使用不仅可以有信函正式的作用，更为重要的是外贸英语函电起到书面证据的依据，正确的书写可以避免不必要的商业纠纷，因此对外贸英语函电的翻译必须准确恰当，否则会影响对外贸易的正常开展，甚至会给公司造成很多不便和损失。鉴于商务英语函电的突出特点,在进行翻译时必须掌握一定的翻译技巧,确保翻译的准确性。本文在讨论外贸英语函电文体特征的基础上，结合实例分析了外贸英语的翻译原则和技巧。

1 Introduction
With the development of global economy , and the fast pace of international trade as the primary means of communication in international trade, business English correspondence almost completely replaced traditional ordinary letters. Business English correspondence has become an indispensable part of international trade .Nowadays , it is the most commonly used foreign trade tool and the most effective means of communication.
It is categorized as English for Special Purposes(ESP), mainly for its use in foreign trade and economic activities. Without it, most of the international trade activities can not proceed smoothly. Therefore, in business, the role of business English correspondence is to set up a bridge to communicate between the two sides and to transfer all relevant information accurately and specifically.
