Abstract
Shuihu is the first zhanghui novel, the masterpiece of Shi Nai’an in Ming Dynasty, and it is one of the Four Classics of Chinese Literature Shuihu which tells the story in Song Dynasty when the corruptive government paid no attention to people, and officials bribed to each other, and framed up honest ones who didn’t share the same ideas. Some brave and honest people, led by Song Jiang, rebelled against the corruptive Song government to save the hard-living people.
Pearl S. Buck is an American who lives in China for a long time. Pearl, the winner of Nobel Literature Prize, is the first one who completely translated Shuihu into English, and when her translation is published, it soon becomes the bestseller. Pearl’s works and translation get great attention from the scholars in the academic circle, for her sperical cultural statue.
In the 1960s, Reception theory, different from the previous text-oriented theory, firstly put the reader in the center of the text study. This paper analyzed the Pearl’s translation of Shuihu from the perspective of reception theory. This paper will analyze Pearl’s translation from the perspective of reception theory, then making a conclusion, for fusion of horizons and horizons of expectations, Prearl mainly uses literal translation, for indeterminacy and blanks, she uses transliteration and for aesthetic distance, she translates according to the characters and situation.

摘 要
《水浒传》作为章回体小说的开端,是明朝施耐庵先生的著作,被列为四大名著之一,主要讲述了宋朝时期因政府腐败无能,各级官员之间官官相护,对百姓的疾苦不闻不问,对忠良之士残忍迫害,于是一批有识之士在宋江的带领下揭竿而起与腐败的宋朝政府做斗争,拯救处于水深火热的贫民的故事。
赛珍珠是一位久居中国的美国人,作为诺贝尔文学奖的获得者,她是第一位将《水浒传》翻译成英文的译者。《水浒传》作为她唯一的译作一经出版便受到广大读者的喜爱,但因其特殊的文化身份,她的作品和译作均受到学术界的广泛争论及研究。
接受理论作为20世纪60年代有别于以往其它以文本为中心的理论,首次将读者放在了文本的中心。本文的从接受理论出发,深入探讨赛珍珠的《水浒传》,从而得出以下结论,对于期待视域和视域融合,赛珍珠主要采取直译的方法,对于不确定性和留白,赛珍珠则采用音译的手法处理,而对于审美距离,赛珍珠则是根据人物性格以及所处环境而定。
