Abstract

Along with the development of market economy and china’s entry WTO, Chinese companies have more communication with other countries in commercial fields. Business English correspondence, as a tool of communication, plays a very important role in international business connections nowadays. And people in china gradually realize that getting familiar with business English correspondence is so important that Chinese companies and foreign companies can communicate well with it in trade. Having learned the importance of business correspondence, people should do research in its linguistic features to help translators know business correspondence and its translation methods. So, in this paper, the author mainly analyzes the English correspondence employed in the international business which takes an important position in the practical use of English correspondence.
This paper illustrates the method of how to translate business English correspondence properly and effectively. At the beginning of the thesis, the author points out the definition of business English correspondence and the writing principles of business English correspondence. And next the author focuses on the lexical expressions and syntactical characteristics of business English correspondence. And then the author finds the translation of business English correspondence such as semantic translation，conversion，amplification and omission. Finally, a conclusion is drawn to that the translator should pay more attention to the characteristics of business English correspondence and explore the translation methods like semantic translation, amplification, omission, conversion and so on.

摘  要

随着中国市场经济的发展和中国加入世界贸易组织，中国公司与其他国家在经济领域有了越来越多的往来。在这之间，作为经济交流的重要桥梁，英语商务函电在国际经济交流过程中扮演者十分重要的角色。 人们逐渐意识到我们应该更好地掌握英语商务函电以便于中国企业在国际贸易中更好地与外国公司交流。在了解英语商务函电的重要性之后，人们应该对英语函电的语体特征和翻译方法进行。因此，本篇文章主要对在英语函电的实际应用中占有重要地位的外贸函电进行分析。
本文通过对商务英语函电的分析来找寻能正确有效的翻译商务英语函电的方法。首先，作者找出了函电的定义和商务英语函电写作中需遵循的几大原则。接着，作者对英语商务函电的词汇和句式特点进行分析同时对其做一个简单的说明。最后作者根据这些词汇和句式特点探究商务英语函电的语义翻译法，转译法以及增译法和省略法进行翻译的方法。最后本文认为我们当代商务英语翻译工作者应该认真的去了解商务英语函电的特点特性，根据这些特性和特点来探索商务英语函电的语义翻译，转移法以及省略法和增译法等翻译方法。
