随着现代化科学技术信息的发展,EST在国际上已逐渐发展成为一种重要的英语文体。虽然对于科技英语的研究比较全面,但还是存在有不足的地方。例如,没有对科技英语翻译失误进行系统的分类就是其中的一项。本文在Nord理论的指导下,通过分析科技英语的特点,对科技英语翻译所产生的失误进行分类,并提出解决科技翻译失误的翻译方法。为提高科技英语翻译的质量和促进科技信息在国内外之间的交流提供帮助。

Abstract:
EST (English for science and technology) is becoming a specific style of English in scientific and technical fields. So a lot of scholars both at home and aboard have drawn much attention to it and have made many meaningful studies on it theoretically. However, some problems and errors can be found in those studies. In order to avoid these errors and promote communication among countries, this paper will study English for science and technology in the sight of translation error. Under the guidance of the theory of Nord, this article through an analysis of features of English for science and technology is to categorize the errors arising from the translation of English for science and technology. This article divides translation errors of EST into four kinds: pragmatic translation errors, cultural translation errors, linguistic translation errors and text-specific translation errors. Under the guidance of the characteristics of English for science and technology, the author explains the four kinds of translation errors in detail. At last, the author lists some correct methods to solve translation errors.

I Introduction
With the rapid development of the world, the communication and collaboration in field of science and technology between China and foreign countries become closer and closer. For matching the development, translators need to improve the translation of scientific and technical materials. Recently, it’s no doubt that translation of English for science and technology has been one of the most important parts in translating field and the demand for its translation is increasing day by day.
However, compared with the research on the EST translation work, the present studies on EST translation are unsatisfied. For a long time, most of the strategies and techniques in the translation of EST are based on descriptive analysis rather than theoretical foundation; and recent linguistic and translational theory have scarcely been applied to the practice of EST translation; the limitation of reference is still a big problem [1]. That is to say, Chinese scientific achievements aren’t easy to be introduced to the world, in the meantime, abroad scientific information is hard to be transmitted to China. Consequently, the development of Chinese science is far behind the pace of global countries. In order to catch up with the global, good translation of EST is necessary. It is essential to understand the features of English for science and technology fundamentally. In other words, we need to know the characteristics of English for science and technology which will be discussed in next part.
