摘要

    自从加入WTO，中国在经济发展上取得了巨大的进步，与其他国家的合作也越来越多。合作促使我国与其他国家签订更多相关合同，这也就促进了合同翻译行业的发展。而中国有很大一部份的国际贸易都是通过英语来完成的。
    既然翻译是人类的具体行为，翻译目的就决定了翻译过程。而目的论是一个以目的为导向的理论并且注重目的文本的预期效果和交际目的。本文运用目的论来翻译商务英语合同，使得翻译过程更加系统化。并且本论文主要是对商务合同英译中的研究。
    本论文将首先介绍目的论和其三个原则：目的性原则、忠实性原则和连贯原则。然后介绍商务英语合同的定义与特点。接下来再概述这三个原则在商务英语合同翻译中的具体运用。

Abstract

China has made great economic progress and its business cooperation with other countries has been rising especially since it entered into WTO, and more business contracts are signed with other countries, which pushes the development of business contract translation. For China, large numbers of its international businesses are done with foreign countries through the language of English.
Translating contracts is a specific action, the process should be decided by its purpose. Skopos theory is a purpose-centered theory and focuses on the communicative purpose of the target version, this paper applies this theory to business English contract translation in order to make the translation process more systematic. E-C translation of business contract is taken as the research objective in this paper.
The skopos theory with its three principles: skopos principle, fidelity principle and coherence principle will be introduced at first in this paper. Then the definition and the characteristics of business English contract will be stated. Next part will specify application of the three principles in the English contract translation will be specified.

1  Introduction
The world economy is developing rapidly, which promotes the trade cooperation among the countries all over the world. As firms from different countries set about to do businesses with each other, business contracts will firstly be drawn up to assure each party’s rights as well as their obligations. China has made great economic progress and its business cooperation with other countries has been rising especially since it entered into WTO. Business cooperation usually starts from the drafting of contracts so more and more business contracts are signed between China and foreign countries.
