Abstract:

With the closer economic and cultural exchanges in the world as well as the continuous development of material and spiritual world, the film, as a kind of a mass culture, is playing an increasingly important role in cross-cultural communication. The introduction of many excellent English films played a role that can not be ignored in the Cultural Exchange, which we can not turn a blind eye to. An excellent translation of film titles could undoubtedly contribute a lot to the charm of the film. Due to the economic globalization, as a cultural and ideological product of society, film has unprecedentedly manifested its advantage of information dissemination and cultural bridge in international communications. The translation of film titles plays a more important role in attracting the audience and improving the box office. This paper aims to explore the comparison between English and Chinese film titles and their translation, the features of English and Chinese film titles, the methods and principles of English and Chinese film titles translation, the request of the translator, the current situation of English and Chinese film titles translation and its solution.

随着世界各国经济文化交流日益密切以及物质精神世界的不断发展,电影作为一种大众文化,在跨文化交际中起着越来越重要的作用。许多优秀的英语影片的引进在中西文化交流中扮演了不容忽视的角色，这一现象我们无法视而不见。电影片名是电影的点睛之笔,做好片名翻译至关重要。由于经济全球化，电影作为文化和意识形态的社会产物，在国际交流方面越来越彰显出信息传播和文化桥梁的优势。电影名称的翻译在吸引观众、提高票房收入方面更是起着举足轻重的作用。本文从英汉电影片名的对比出发，分析英汉电影片名各自的特点；具体介绍英汉电影片名的翻译，英汉电影片名翻译的原则方法、目前的现状及改进的方法。

1 Introduction
With the fast peace of China's reform and opening up, the cultural communications between China and the foreign countries become more and more frequent, and the introduction of many excellent English classic films played a very important role in the cultural communications between the East and the West.
Film is an art form as well as a mass cultural consumption. Driven by the wave of global economic integration, film as a cultural and ideological product of society has unprecedentedly manifested its advantage of information dissemination and cultural bridge in international communications. In this situation, film translation becomes necessary. The translation of film titles takes a more important part in attracting the audience and improving the box office. This process can be viewed as a creative job, and we may feel better if the title is good. Now people set out to explore it from different perspectives. However, as a particular and important part of translation, film title translation hasn't been explored carefully.
