Abstract
Film is a combination of modern science and art. Along with the development of the society, it has increasingly become an indispensable amusement in everyday life. The subtitle is always the key part of the film frame. The subtitle not only narrates the story but also brings out the profound meanings. Therefore, the translation of subtitle is very important. Meanwhile, the process of translation is actually the collision of two cultures. The various historical backgrounds and geographical differences and so on bring forth cultural differences. Accordingly, translators should not only preserve the original cultural connotations, but should also ensure that the new culture is accepted and understood by the target readers. Therefore, two translation strategies were put forward by Lawrence Venuti in 1995 solving the problem as how to deal with cultural factors in translation. This thesis, on the basis of analyzing the subtitle translation of Django Unchained, investigates how domestication and foreignization are applied reasonably, in hopes of providing some guidance for dealing with cultural factors in translating film subtitles.

摘要
电影是现代科学技术和艺术的结合,随着社会发展,电影已经渐渐成为人们一项不可或缺的日常活动。通常来说字幕贯穿整部电影,是电影框架的关键组成部分。字幕不仅是叙事,准确达意的字幕更能够对影片意旨的表达起到画龙点睛的作用,因此译制片字幕翻译尤为重要。而翻译过程其实是两种文化的碰撞过程。不同的历史背景和地域差异造就不同的文化。所以,我们既要保护原有文化内涵不被破坏,又要保证新文化注入后能使更多人接受和理解。这就要求在翻译电影时将归化策略和异化策略统一起来。归化和异化策略最早由美国著名翻译学家劳伦斯韦努蒂在1995年提出。对这两种策略的运用向来存在争论。本文以电影《被解救的姜戈》中具体字幕翻译为例,解析如何合理运用归化和异化策略,弥补中西方历史背景和文化差异造成的情感意义空缺。希望能够为电影字幕翻译处理文化因素提供一些帮助。
