摘  要

翻译是传播文化的桥梁，尤其是文化翻译，在文化交流中占据重要的作用，鸟意象的翻译也包括在文化翻译中。鸟类是大自然的一部分，与人类关系之密切不可言喻，因而鸟类是文艺作品中的常客。鸟类在古诗词曲里是一个重要的文化意象，用以表达诗人的喜乐哀愁。它们蕴含丰富的文化，译者翻译时需放在文化语境里考虑，本文以中西文化差异为背景，研究中国古诗中鸟文化的意象解读和翻译，讨论在不同的文化背景下，中西方诗人对鸟意象的诠释和抒发情感方式的不同，深入剖析产生这种差异的原因，寻求解决方法。相比其他文学作品，诗歌蕴含更多的文化信息，诗歌中蕴含的文化意象跟语言精简增加了译者的难度。因此我们在处理鸟意象时，译者需做出百倍努力，以展现中华文化中鸟意象的丰富内涵。

Abstract

Translation is a way to promote communication, especially the cultural translation. It plays an important role in cultural exchange. Compared with other literal works, poetry embodies more cultural information. The birds are part of nature, we human being, enjoy a good relationship with them. Thus, the birds are regulars in literary and artistic work, they are extremely welcomed by the men of letters as well as some refined scholars. The bird is an important cultural image in ancient Chinese poems to express poets' joyfulness and sadness. Under the different cultural background, people will have a different associative meaning of the same image, and it leads to the result that poets from different countries may have distinct expressive way. When being translated, these images should be put in the context of culture as they contain rich culture. In order to exhibit the special flavor in Chinese poems, this paper explores approaches to translate poems with bird image from the cultural perspective. The concise language and rich cultural connotation in classic Chinese poetry tend to give rise to the difficulties of translation. Hence, translators should make great effort to display the bird culture in CCP (Chinese Classic Poetry).
