摘  要

“假朋友”这个概念最早由法国语言学家在1928年提出，是个非常有趣的语言学术语。在汉英实践中产生的“看似相同，实则有别”的假朋友会对交流产生不小的障碍。同时，对从事汉英翻译工作的译者和语言学习者来说，假朋友又是不可避免的困扰。因此，对假朋友进行相应的研究十分必要。基于前人对假朋友的研究，本文将继续深入讨论，从定义、类型、原因等方面探究在汉英翻译中出现的假朋友问题。在研究的过程中，通过举例并根据例子中原文和译文的错误分析，提出一些有用的建议，从而帮助译者和语言学习者更好地减少假朋友出现的概率，并尽可能避免误译，确保词语意义的准确传达。

Abstract

“False friend”, a very interesting linguistic terminology, is raised by French linguists in 1928. The problem that occurs in C-E translation hampers intercultural communication. They are like traps, which bring a lot of confusion to the translator. At the same time, people who undertake C-E translation and language learners will meet the problem of “false friend” inevitably in translation practice. Therefore, it is meaningful to make a relevant study of “false friend”. Based on the previous research, the paper will study the problem of “false friend” in the following aspects: definitions, types and causes. The analysis is made with different examples through error analysis. It can briefly generate the process of the translation from source language to target language. Considering a source text, two kinds of target texts will be given: one is of “false friend”, one is of correct translation. The contrastive and error analysis is based on it. What’s more, these examples are frequently used in daily life or occur in translation study. It will make a conclusion that “false friend” is a common phenomenon, which is not easily or simply avoided. What can translators and language learners do is to try their best to reduce its occurrence rate. Then based on the results, suggestions are proposed to achieve a better understanding of words or expressions, and to reduce mislead translation and ensure that target texts convey correct meanings, for translators and language learners.
