摘  要

隐喻被频繁地应用在我们的日常交流中，尤其是在文学作品中。谈及英语隐喻，我们关注它在金融词汇翻译中的功能。英语隐喻其独特的特征。通过对这些领域的全面分析，我们试图把相关知识应用于笔译研究领域。金融报道中经常会出现隐喻，这一现象要求我们正确理解它的功能和使用方法。倘若缺乏隐喻相关知识，读者无法体会报道中说话人和讲述人的深层含义。鉴于此，本文的目的是发现报道中所使用的隐喻以便打造出更为完善的翻译作品。基于前人对英语隐喻的研究，本文将对各种隐喻进行分类，并讨论隐喻翻译带来的生动形象的翻译效果，并根据分析效果，提出一些建议，从而帮助读者更好地理解金融报道，更重要的是提高笔译质量。

Abstract

Metaphor is frequently used in our daily communication, especially in literature works. As we can see from Oxford Dictionary, it refers to a device used to describe something in an imaginative way, in order to show that two things have the same qualities and to make the description more powerful. As regards English metaphor, we focus on the function of metaphor applied in the translation of financial reporting. Developing from a cultural background in English countries, English metaphor has its distinctive features. With a comprehensive analysis of aspects, we will try to apply the findings to translation studies. Metaphor can be found in financial reporting, which calls for a correct understanding of its functions and usage. Without proficient knowledge of metaphor, readers cannot taste the deep meaning of the speakers or narrators in the reporting. Based on this, we should be more careful to be aware of the metaphors used in the context. Only in this way can we achieve a sound translation of metaphor. Led by the previous studies of English metaphor, this paper will sort out various metaphors from different domains and discuss the vividness of metaphorical translation applied to it.
