摘  要

观看美剧已成为我国青年人生活中一种不可或缺的娱乐方式。美剧是美国的社会文化、生活方式、价值观最直接的体现。在美剧中，语言运用的一大特色便是剧中人物大量使用俚语。众所周知每个人说话时所表达的语气、潜在情感都会在说话人的话语中体现出来，话语都有其目的性，有些话目的性比较强，有些话则比较弱。看似简单的一句话在不同情境中所表达的意思相去甚远，因此在字幕翻译过程中对译者提出更高要求。本文从目的论视角为出发点探寻美剧中俚语的翻译处理方法，通过对具体语言翻译过程中方法及策略的探讨与比较，寻求一条能够恰当翻译美剧俚语的新途径，使观众可以更好地了解美剧中鲜明的语言特色及文化内涵。

Abstract

As is known to us, watching American TV series has been an important entertainment in our daily life. Therefore, American TV series does play a great role in the world in which we live. By watching American TV series, we can pick up something about their culture, the way of speaking and the characteristics of their language etc. Of course, one of most obvious language feature in American TV series is that they tend to use some slangs while they are talking. Slangs, as an inevitable part in American people’s life, seems very useful to express their delicate feelings and make a difference in the speech community. If slangs cannot be interpreted in a correct way, it will cause some misunderstanding even some conflicts in public. Therefore, in the subtitles translation, we need to pay more attention to the translation of slangs owing to its ubiquitous feature in our daily life. Howbeit, translating them is a fiddly job. Everyone can be exposed with their tones and their subconscious feelings. Sometimes, the same sentence in different context can show different meaning according to its purpose. On account of this reason, we’d better find a way to address this problem. As a matter of fact, every sentence has its purpose, but their purposes conveyed vary in accordance with different contexts. We can employ the skopos theory to do translation processing as it seeks to achieve the goal of getting the message that speakers want to deliver across to others clearly and unambiguously. The audiences will understand the language characteristics and inherent culture of USA.
