摘 要
姓名代表着人的身份地位以及血缘的亲疏,在文化及翻译中起了举足轻重的作用,尤其体现在文学作品中。随着人名翻译重要性的提高,文学作品中的人名翻译是不可回避的一个课题。好的翻译能够很好地传达原作者的意图,反之就会影响作品本身的美感,甚至影响读者对原作中的文化的理解。《骆驼祥子》是老舍具有代表性的小说。本文选取了三个英译本,分别是我国著名的英译家施晓菁翻译的Camel Xiangzi,通晓中国文化的汉学家詹姆斯的译本Rickshaw以及伊万·金的译本Rickshaw Boy。三个译本对小说人名的翻译各有千秋,这些译本使用了多种翻译方法,有音译,意译,归化,异化,体现了不同译者在不同时代对翻译的不同要求,译者自身所持有的文化态度以及译文读者的文化接受心理。

Abstract
Name has a connection to the person’s identity, status and related to his family blooding, which plays an important role in the culture and translation, especially in literary works. With the improvement of name translation’s importance, name translation cannot be avoided in the course of literary works. Good translation can well transform the intention of the author, while poor translation effect the aesthetic and even make readers feel confused of understanding the culture intended in the original text. Luotuo Xiangzi is a representative novel written by Lao She. This thesis selects three famous English versions of the novel, Luotuo Xiangzi which are Camel Xiangzi rendered by Shi Xiaojing, an English-Chinese translator from China; Rickshaw by Jean. M. James, a sinologist who has a good knowledge of Chinese culture; Rickshaw Boy by Evan King. These three English versions have distinguished characteristics of name translation applying various translation methods, such as transliteration, free translation, domestication and foeignization. It embodies the varied requirement of classified translators in different era. It includes the cultural attitudes the translators hold and the cultural psychological acceptation of original readers. Only scratch the original works and target language’s cultural background can reach the appropriate level to the name translation. This thesis will make a comparison of the name translation of the three English version of Luotuo Xiangzi to study the different styles that the three translators hold and the knowledge of name translation
