摘  要

演说作为一种文化传播途径和语言学习方式在人们的日常生活中起着不可或缺的作用。全球风靡的TED演说在中国以其独特的十八分钟演说时长和新颖的思想传播模式，成为众多英语学习者的第一手学习资料。此外，TED的幽默语言也吸引了众多观众的眼球。由于TED在中国的影响力逐渐增强，其演说的翻译需求也随之增加。在翻译中，幽默语言的翻译是既重要又困难的一部分。本论文通过对TED幽默语言的英汉翻译进行研究，比较英汉幽默语言的文化因素和语言因素异同，从而分析TED演说中幽默语的翻译难点和翻译方法。本文运用了直译法和意译法，归化法进行对比并列举例子来研究TED幽默语的翻译技巧。

Abstract

As an efficient pathway of culture communication and an easy means of language learning, speech has inevitably played a vital role in everyone’s daily life, especially in English learner’s life. TED talk is popular with its unique 18-minute speech and a model of spreading original idea in China. At the same time, many English learners are using it as their first-hand resource and material to improve English study. In addition, it is the humorous languages in TED talk that catches audiences’ attention a lot. With the increasing impact of TED talk, the demand of TED translation seems to rise at the same time. It is no doubt that translation of humorous language is an important but difficult part in the translating process. Thus, this thesis mainly focuses on studying TED talks’ translation of humorous languages and analyzing the similarities and discrepancies between cultural and language factors in English and Chinese, as well as difficulties and strategies of translating humorous languages. The primary part of this thesis adopts strategies of humorous language’s translation, such as literal translation, free translation, and domestication. The major method of this thesis is the contrastive method which contains some instances to substantiate the points raised against the thesis meanwhile the TED talk will be analyzed through these instances to find the translating skills.
