摘  要

随着经济的全球化和中国加入WTO, 中国与世界各国的经济往来频繁，对外贸易快速发展，商务合同越来越显示其重要性。2013年我国的进出口量为4.16万亿美元，超过美国成为世界最大贸易国。商务合同的翻译质量直接影响商务活动能否顺利进行，因此其翻译实践仍然需要一定理论上的指导。目的论已经被广泛应用于许多领域，比如旅游英语和电影英语，但是对于商务合同翻译却涉及很少。本文将尝试从功能目的论的角度来探索商务合同文本的翻译，将合同翻译视为一种有目的具体行为，指出合同的翻译应充分考虑合同的功能及翻译目的，并以目的性原则、连贯性原则和忠实性原则为依据，选择合适的翻译方法，从而提高商务合同的翻译质量。本文希望通过对目的论的三个原则，两个翻译标准及其对商务合同翻译的应用的探讨，提高商务合同的翻译质量，以减少不必要的法律纠纷。

Abstract

With China’s accession to the WTO and acceleration the process of economic globalization, China’s foreign trade business is developing rapidly. The total volume of our country’s imports and exports in 2013 is 4.16 trillion dollars, and China surpassed America to become the world’s largest trading nation. As the international trade grows rapidly, business contract plays a more and more significant role in international business trade. The quality of the business contract translation can affect business activities directly, so the theoretical guidance is still necessary for translation practice. Skopos theory is widely used in many kinds of practical styles’ translation, such as tourism translation and film translation. But there are not many researches about business contract translation. According to Skopos theory, the Skopos rule says that it is the  purpose of the target text that determines translation methods and strategies. Skopos theory is a new perspective to study the translation of business contract, and it is feasible to apply the Skopos theory in the translation of business contract. According to Skopos theory, the purpose of action is the prime principle determining any translation process. This paper probes into the Skopos theory from the perspective of three principles and two translation standards of the Skopos theory. And it is focused on description of the application of Skopos theory to business contract translation. The aim of the paper is to improve the quality of business contract and avoid unnecessary legal disputes by summarizing the methods of the application of Skopos theory.
