ABSTRACT

Nowadays, English is taught in schools of all levels. Children learning English at their earlier stage becomes a trend, especially in primary schools. One of the key to master the English language is English vocabulary learning. English vocabulary teaching in rural primary schools is both a key point and a difficulty. Because the rural primary school English teaching starts relatively late and there are many problems making teaching results against our wish.
The purposes of this research are to test whether the approach of intuitive teaching method is more effective than the traditional teaching method.
This thesis mainly attempts to make a research into application of intuitive teaching method to rural primary school. Through the teaching experiment in four weeks, the author makes a comparison between the experimental class and the control class and finds that the intuitive teaching method has a good effect on students’ English vocabulary learning. This method can improve the students’ vocabulary learning efficiency and increase the enthusiasm of pupils’ English learning. At the same time, the author points out that the adequate teaching time is needed for further experiment.

摘  要

英语在当今中国的各级学校的外语教学中占有重要地位,尤其是在小学,儿童学习英语已成为一种发展趋势。掌握英语的关键是英语词汇的学习和积累,因此,在农村小学英语词汇教学既是重点也是一个难点。由于偏远地区农村的学校英语教学起步较晚,并且存在外语师资力量不足、外语教学研究水平偏低、外语教学设施匮乏等诸多问题,所以小学英语教学成果甚微。
本文的目的在于检验直观英语词汇教学是否要比传统的教法更有效。
本文主要从实践方面对小学直观英语词汇教学做了探讨。通过为期四周的教学实验,作者把实验班和对照班作了对比,发现直观教学法对小学生英语词汇学习具有良好的促进作用,可以提高小学生词汇学习效率,增加小学生的英语学习积极性。同时作者指出需要确保足够的教学时长,展开更大范围的实验教学。
