摘  要

词汇是语言学习的基石,但它也是一个难题。在中国,大多数学生从小学开始学英语。作为英语初学者,小学生掌握词汇的能力有所欠缺。根据小学生认知发展的特征,老师们可用简笔画让学生们更好地理解词汇的意思。简笔画,顾名思义就是用简单和能突显特征的线条来描绘事物的一种绘画形式。简笔画能省时间,还能营造轻松的氛围。本文指出,简笔画有下列功能:(1)构建直观的教学情境;(2)增强英语教学的灵活性和创造性;(3)开拓想象力。为了更好地运用简笔画,老师们需要注重观察和提高自身的想象力。随着科技的发展,学校的教学设备越来越先进,教师们用多媒体来展示图片。另一个老师需要注意的一点是,如果老师能用粉笔在黑板上画,那会更好。

Abstract

For language learning, vocabulary is the cornerstone. But vocabulary is also a difficult problem for both teachers and students. In China, most students begin to learn English from primary schools. Pupils, as the beginners of English learning, don’t have a comprehensive grasp of vocabulary. According to the characteristics of pupils’ cognitive development, teachers can make use of stick figures to make students understand the meaning of words better. Stick figures, as the name suggests, are a kind of painting form that uses some simple and essential lines to describe various things. Stick figures can not only save time, but also create a relaxed atmosphere. The functions of stick figures are described as follows: (1) It can create an intuitive language teaching scenario; (2) It can enhance flexibility and creativity of English teaching; (3) It can cultivate learner’s imaginative ability. In order to make good use of stick figures, teachers should pay attention to observing and improving their ability of imagination. With the development of technology, the teaching facilities in schools are more and more advanced, and teachers use multimedia to show pictures to students. Another thing that teachers should pay attention to is that it will be better if teachers draw stick figures on the blackboard by chalks.
