Abstract
This paper endeavors to help the students improve their oral English capacities by case study and comparing different learning strategies among English majors. Through interviews, observation and questionnaire, this paper analyzes the similarities and differences of oral learning strategies of English majors. It finds out that reading and listening more, communicating with native English speakers, watching more original movies as well as both thinking and speaking in English are strategies favorable for undergraduates’ oral capacities. Besides, unreasonable strategies which are supposed to be avoided such as ignoring listening and speaking capacity, seldom practicing oral English are also pointed out. Therefore, this paper tries to guide the English majors to improve their oral capacities and communication skills by selecting the favorable strategies.

本论文试图从提高学生英语口语水平的角度,通过个案研究的方法,对比高校英语专业本科生的不同学习策略,运用访谈、观察等方式分析不同对象之间的异同,从而找到多读、多听英语广播电视,多开口练习口语等有利于大学生英语口语学习的策略;合理规避因害怕犯错而不愿开口多说、只重视语法忽视听说能力、不重视日常口语练习等不合理的策略。并进一步为高校英语专业本科生提供一些提高英语口语水平和交际能力的指导意见,以帮助大学生更好的提高口语水平与英语交际能力。

It is stated that a large number of undergraduates get high marks in their written examinations, but are poor in their oral capacities since they fail to perform well in their oral tests, which indicates that their daily oral communication ability has become obviously inadequate. China’s higher education sector has devoted itself to improving the undergraduates’ oral capacities and resolutely getting rid of the yoke of “dumb English”. Therefore, the study on oral English has been very popular.
