Abstract:
 English culture is based on individualism, science and adventure and exploration while the Chinese culture is based on masses, humanism and the relationship between man and nature so thought discrepancies embodied in English and Chinese are a very common phenomenon. In our daily life, culture seems invisible but occurs and affects our whole life with its deep structures and roots. Because of the different modes of productions, traditions and cultures, people's thinking patterns are different, and sometimes even contrary to each other. Many scholars at home and abroad have made detailed studies of thinking patterns, the relationship between thinking pattern and translation, and between thinking pattern and communication. The thesis discusses four types of thought discrepancies embodied in English and Chinese, namely, comprehensive and analytical thinking patterns, linear and circular thinking patterns, the concrete and the abstract thinking patterns, ethics and the cognition thinking patterns. In a word, understanding the thought discrepancies embodied in English and Chinese has a great significance. It is helpful for people to understand the culture and the background of English and Chinese, and it will also help people to communicate with each other in English and Chinese.

摘要：
英语文化是基于个人主义,科学和冒险探索主义精神,汉语文化是基于群众,以人为本以及人与自然的关系, 所以,英语和汉语中体现了思维差异。在我们的日常生活中, 文化似乎是无形的,但它却植根并出现和影响着我们整个生活。由于生产方式,历史传统和语言文化的不同,说英语和汉语的人们的思维方式也不尽相同,有时候甚至相反。国内外有许多学者对思维方式、思维方式与翻译的关系、以及思维方式与文化交际的关系进行了研究。这篇论文主要讨论英、汉思维方式的四种差异：综合思维模式和分析思维模式, 线形思维模式和圆形思维模式,具体思维模式和抽象思维模式,伦理性思维模式和认知性思维模式。总之, 对英、汉思维方式的差异的认识具有重大的意义，它对人们了解中英文化及其背景，以及中英人们之间的交流有着重要的帮助作用。

1 Introduction
Each language has its national uniqueness. The reason for this lies in the fact that each language has its roots developed from the depth of its culture, the different types of thoughts in English and Chinese language are based on their culture. Because the culture formation is quite different, the thought patterns are always different. English culture is based on individualism, science and adventure and exploration while the Chinese culture is based on masses, humanism and the relationship between man and nature, so thought discrepancies embodied in English and Chinese language are a very common phenomenon, In our daily life, culture seems invisible but occurs and affects our whole life with its deep structures and roots. Because of the different modes of production, historical traditions and the language of the different cultures, the thought patterns are different between them, and sometimes even contrary to each other.
