Abstract and key words
Abstract: Language is a cultural phenomenon. The study of love metaphor in Chinese and English has deepened the constant international communication in the global world. The definition of metaphor is essential in the process of human’s understanding and reforming the world. The origin and development of proverbs are first discussed. Turning next to consider common characteristics of love in English proverbs. Then the differences of love metaphor between English and Chinese proverbs are described. Finally, the comparative analysis of metaphor of love proverbs between English and Chinese are covered.

摘要;语言是一种文化现象。在研究中,全球的国际交流不断加深了中英文的爱情隐喻的研究。隐喻被定义为至关重要的在人类的认识和改造世界的过程。首先讨论谚语的起源和发展,接着我了解英语谚语的共同之处,然后讲述中英爱情谚语的区别,最后,介绍中英谚语中爱情谚语的对比分析。

1 Introduction
Study found that "love" metaphor proverbs are used both in English and Chinese. Proverbs are in the concept of metaphor. The similarity reveals the love proverbs from the same body and life experience, a common psychological and physiological basis; at the same time, English and Chinese have unique "love" in the concept of metaphor. The result reflects that the love metaphor is influenced by the different cultural backgrounds. Metaphor is defined as the substitution of an idea or object with another. The definition of metaphor is generally divided into "living" and "dead" metaphor. Metaphor is essential feature of human communication. Proverbs are much appreciated by the native speakers whatever languages it is in. From the above, the proverbs can be easily seen, in English or Chinese, hold a significant position in language.
Yet, in other words, a metaphor is an indirect way of expressing one thing by saying another. The fact that some love metaphorical expressions can be understood in certain context. The data are collected from different sources. The Chinese data are collected from love fictions, love films, love songs dictionaries or newspapers. The English data are collected from love fictions, love films, love songs as well as dictionaries and newspapers.
