A Case Study on Cross-cultural Management of MNC from the Perspective of Cultural Difference
ABSTRACT
With the rapid development of economy, the relationship of the economy between the countries became closer and closer and economic globalization trend became more and more evidently. In this period, multinational companies grew rapidly and it is inevitably for multinational companies to face the conflicts between the different cultures, especially for American and Chinese corporations. Thus, cross-cultural management is very imperative.
The article firstly reviews the results of the studies which were accomplished in cross-cultural management filed. Then the paper will introduce some cross-culture management cases and find out the corporation cultural differences between the two countries’ enterprises on four aspects, such as ideology and values, organizational structure and hierarchy, management mode and Human Resource management. What’s more, the paper will point out the cultural roots of those four cultural differences behind. Finally, some suggestions and measures will be given for corporations’ cross-cultural management.

摘 要
随着经济的快速发展,各国间的经济联系越来越紧密,经济全球化的趋势越来越明显。在此期间,跨国企业快速发展,并且不可避免地面临着因文化差异而引起的文化冲突,中美跨国企业尤其如此。因而,跨文化管理势在必行。
本文首先回顾了最近跨文化管理领域的学术研究成果。随后,本文介绍了一些跨文化管理的案例,并通过这些案例分析,找出中美企业文化差异所表现出的四个主要方面,如企业的意识和价值观,企业的组织结构和等级制度,企业的管理模式和人力资源管理方式。更主要的是,文章深刻分析了造成中美企业文化差异的文化根源。最后,文章为中美企业进行跨文化管理提出了一些建议和措施。
