Abstract:

Based on intercultural communication, this study intends to explore wine-culture differences between China and the West. This paper makes a comparison on wine-culture differences between China and the West, analyzing the causes from aspects such as wine variety, drinking custom and humanistic spirit and further studies the national cultural differences between the two sides. These researches can help us better learn practical values about wine culture in our daily life, and instruct people to deal with intercultural communication more effectively.

摘要：

本文着眼于跨文化交际的范畴，对中西方酒文化差异做出研究。从酒品种类、饮酒习俗和人文精神这三方面的不同之处，探究其形成原因，通过一系列对中西方酒文化差异的对比分析来浅析当代中西文化差异。文章指出，这些研究可以使我们更多、更好地了解其在当代日常生活中对人们产生的实际价值与意义，从而引导人们更有效地进行跨文化交际。

1.    Introduction
At all times and in all over the world, human beings see wines as their cultural essence which has been developing for thousands of years. As far as most people are concerned, they are not just a kind of common drink, but a kind of inner sustenance in realistic culture. In both China and western countries, wines play a more and more significant role in daily life. However, different countries have their different wine culture and the wine-culture differences are like a miniature of cultural differences between China and the West.
1.1    Literature Review
No matter when and where, wine culture is always a hot research area, and many scholars have reached so many achievements so far.
More than one hundred years ago, Germanic philosopher Nietzsche come up with the concept of Dionysus Spirit and he thought that wines are gifts which God vouchsafes. R.Phillips (2002) explained the process of western wine-culture development including wine production, wine custom and mutual wine trade communication between China and the West. What’s more, Patrick McGovern (2003) detailedly analyzed grape wine culture which is quite representative in western wine culture and made a comparison with the most characteristic kind of wine in Chinese wine culture——Chinese liquor.
