Abstract

With the development of the protection of women’s and children’s rights, feminist studies, especially the gender studies, have increasingly influenced China's researches concerned. Thus, the film The Hours, which won Oscar Academy Award in 2003, has caused a heated debate at home and abroad. This movie focuses on the moral and emotional growth of three different women in three different periods, and shows how women get self-identity in a patriarchal society. From the perspective of feminism, this paper makes a specific analysis of the women’s chase of self-identity. Thus, readers can gain a deeper understanding of heroines in this movie and the reason why women in different periods have the same thoughts. It also enables readers to better understand the development of women’s thinking and the woman’s pursuit of spiritual liberation and self-identity.
This thesis falls into four parts. The first part introduces the movie The hours and its characters. The second part illustrates the background and the three waves of Feminism. The third part analyzes the shared thoughts among these three main characters. Finally, the paper illustrates the ways to self-identity.

摘  要

随着妇女儿童权益保障事业的发展,女性主义研究，尤其是性别研究，越来越多地影响着中国的相关研究。在此背景下，2003年奥斯卡获奖影片《时时刻刻》在国内外引起了热议。电影通过描写在三个不同时期的三个不同女性的道德和情感的升华，展示了女性在这个父权社会中如何获得自我认同。本文从女性主义角度出发，详细分析女性对自我认同的追求，然后，使读者对电影中女主角们有更深的了解，以及更加清晰地看出为什么在不同时期里女性有着相同的思想。同时，使读者更加了解女性的思维发展以及女性对精神解放、自我独立的追求。
本文分为四个部分。第一部分介绍电影《时时刻刻》和其中的人物，第二部分阐述相关时代背景以及三次女性主义浪潮。第三部分分析三个女主人公共同的思想。最后，阐释三个女主人公如何获得自我认同。
