Abstract

Both in China and West, wine can be seen anywhere and anytime. It plays a significant and indispensable role in people’s lives. There are many references to it in literature, entertainment, catering and health preservation. Both of the wine cultures enjoy a high reputation around the world and also have a history of ages. Due to the living environment, values and differences in historical background and so on, there are many different styles, a variety of national identity between eastern and western countries in wine cultures. This paper chooses one aspect of differences in wine culture as the research subject--drinking wine. Through comparing the wine drinking customs, drinking purposes and drinking etiquettes between China and the West, it analyzes the differences between Chinese and Western wine culture. Thus it further compares the difference between China and the western culture and the reasons which caused these differences, such as values and culture patterns. As we know, cultural differences are important factors which restrict communication between Chinese and foreigners. Lacking the necessary understanding of the eastern and western countries in wine cultures, people will encounter many problems during their communication process, even more it will cause misunderstandings or an awkward position among people. Thereupon, it’s vital to have a good knowledge of wine culture so that we can achieve intercultural communication successfully among different countries.

摘要

 在中西方，酒时时可见，处处可见，在人们生活中占有重要的位置，并且与人们的生活紧密相连。在文学艺术创作、文化娱乐和饮食烹饪、养生等各方面，都能看到它的影子。中国酒文化在世界享有盛誉，西方也是如此。由于生活环境、价值观念和历史背景的差异等的不同,中西方国与国之间的酒文化呈现出风格迥异、丰富多彩的民族特性。本文重点选取了酒文化中的一个方面—饮酒作为研究对象。通过比较中西方饮酒习俗、饮酒目的和饮酒礼仪等方面的不同来分析和比较中西方酒文化差异，从而进一步阐述中西方文化差异以及产生差异的背后原因，如价值观、文化环境等。众所周知，文化差异是制约中国人与外国人进行交流的重要因素。对于中西方文化缺乏必要的了解，在交际过程中就会遇到许多问题，甚至造成误解或使双方处于尴尬境地。因此，了解不同国家的饮酒文化，有助于人们成功地进行跨文化交流。
