摘要

美国总统的就职演说是新当选的总统在就职当日向国内外发表的政治演讲的一种。就职演说影响广泛，意义重大，通过此演说，总统宣布自己的政治纲领，来使得公众支持并接受自己的观点。本文以巴拉克·奥巴马的就职演说为语料，结合由韩礼德提出的语篇功能中的主述位及主位推进理论，分析其对奥巴马演讲成功所起的重要意义，从而证明主位推进模式在语篇分析中的实用性。

Abstract

America’s inaugural address is one of the political speech that the new president speaks to domestic and overseas people in his inauguration. The speech affects profoundly and significantly. The president declares his platform to win the support of public through the speech. This thesis is based on the Obama’s inaugural address, combining the theme-rheme and thematic progression put forward in textual function by Halliday to prove the significant meaning of the success of Obama’s inaugural address and practical applicability of thematic progression in text.
