摘要

目前，在批评理论界生态观念越来越被注意和重视，人们对生态批评、生态美学、生态文学等概念的使用也越来越多。而生态批评，正是文学研究与当代生态思潮的结合，是文学研究的绿色化，是文学文化的染色剂，是文学开创的润滑剂，它是对生态危机的综合回应。生态批评，以文学为出发点的研究线路，是一种联系还较为松散但正成气候的研究方法，是绿色文化研究的领域。
本文试图从梳理前人研究成果入手，在此基础上，解读托马斯•哈代写作人物所处的环境时代。并结合细读其作品《远离尘嚣》,分析女主人公巴丝谢芭•伊芙丁与环境交织在一起的浑然天成为基地，描写在一定的环境铺垫下与伽伯利•奥克、特洛伊和波德伍德三位男士的爱情故事。希望通过对哈代小说《远离尘嚣》的生态批评分析，增强我们对环境的生态保护意识，进一步延伸生态批评的文学趋向，帮助促进生态批评研究的绿色化，深化生态批评的文化内涵，拓展生态批评的文化领域。

Abstract

At present, the ecological concepts are attracting more and more attention in the critical theory circle and the concept of ecocriticism, ecological aesthetics, and ecological literature are used more and more. The ecocriticism is the very combination of literary research and the contemporary ecological thought, the greenization of the literary research, the dye of the literature and culture, the lubricant of the literature initiated and the comprehensive response to the ecological crisis.  Ecocriticism, regarding the literary study as a starting point, is the green fields of cultural studies. Although now it is a loose contact, it is just a research method on the way to gain acceptance.
This thesis aims to have a further analysis and understanding based on researches done by scholars to interpret the age of the characters written by Thomas Hardy. By reading his work Far from the Madding Crowd closely, it analyzes the perfect connection between the heroine Bathsheba Everdene and the environment, a base for it, to describe the love story with Gabriel Oak, Troy and Boldwood these three men under the matting of the environment. Here, the author attempts to enhance our awareness of ecological protection of the environment through the ecocritical analysis of Hardy’s novel Far from the Madding Crowd, further the literary trends of the ecocriticism, help the promotion of the greenization of the ecocriticism research, deepen the cultural connotation of the ecocriticism and develop the cultural field of the ecocriticism.
