摘 要

语料库是语料库语言学研究的基础资源，应用于词典编纂，语言教学等方面。如今，语料库已经被广泛地应用于译者的风格的考察，翻译培训，以及翻译教学等领域。其中译者风格的考察是语料库在翻译领域的一项重要应用。
而《红楼梦》一直以来是中外译者津津乐道的我国古典文学作品，将语料库运用到对《红楼梦》译本的语言风格的考察中，可以帮助读者更客观具体的体会到原著及译本的特色。
红楼梦的霍译本和杨译本是迄今最完整最具有研究价值的英文译本。通过对比及比较这两个经典的译本，笔者旨在分析译者的翻译技巧，更深入的了解中外的背景知识。
笔者通过基于语料库的对两个译本的对比比较, 发现霍译更倾向于异化，以使其译本更容易被西方读者理解接受；而杨译更加忠实于原著，对于原著的思想和文化理解更加深刻透彻。

Abstract

Corpus is the basic source of the corpus linguistics. It is used in the domains of lexicography and language teaching. Nowadays, corpus has been widely used in the discussion of translators’ styles, translation training, and translation teaching. Particularly, the discussion of the translators’ styles is one of the most important functions of the corpus in the field of translation.
    Many translators at home or abroad delight in talking about Hong Lou Meng. To apply corpus to the discussion of the translation styles of Hong Lou Meng will help the readers understand the features of the original and the translation.
    The Story of the Stone and A Dream of Red Mansions are the most complete and valuable translations so far.
I would like to analyze the translators’ skills and get more and deeper information about both Chinese and the Western culture by comparing and contrast these two classic translations.
After the corpus-based study of the translations, I have drawn the conclusion that Hawkes’s translation has an obvious feature of domestication. His language is nearer to English readers and helps the readers to accept the book.
And the Yangs were trying to be faithful to the original. They have used more literary translation measures. Their work may be a little harder for foreign readers to understand, but it is a great work which is terse and contains more traditional Chinese elements.
