摘要:
加拿大著名当代短篇小说家爱丽丝•门罗被誉为世界上最有影响力的小说家之一。美国犹太作家辛西娅•奥齐克甚至将芒罗称为“当代契诃夫”,很多欧美媒体的评论都毫不吝啬地给了她“当代最伟大小说家”的称号。她凭借女作家的细腻,以独特的女性视角刻画了一个个平凡的女性人物以及她们生活中的烦恼与冲突,其女性意识在她们的欲望、挣扎、努力过程中得以苏醒并不断成长。短篇小说集《逃离》是门罗在73岁时出版的力作,由八个短篇小说组成,八篇小说有着共同的主线—逃离。本论文挑选了其中四个女主人公,分别是卡拉、朱丽叶、佩内洛普和格雷斯,从她们的“逃离”中揭示其女性意识的成长过程,并从中分析总结促使女性意识成长与女性逃离的因素。

Abstract:
Alice Munro as a famous Canadian short-story writer of our time, is among the most influential writers of English fiction all around the world. American Jewish writer Cynthia Oliver even calls Munro the contemporary “Chekhov”. Many European critics praise her as the greatest contemporary writer. With an exquisite mind and distinctive female perspective, Munro portrays different ordinary women characters and their worries and conflicts in their daily life. Their feminist consciousness get revived and developed gradually in the process of their desire, struggle and efforts. The short-story collection Runaway is one of Munro’s representative works in her 73 years, which consists of eight short stories. All of them have the same theme - “runaway”. This thesis selects four protagonists from the collection including Carla, Juliet, Penelope and Grace. From their escape, this thesis reveals the growing process of the female consciousness, and analyzes and summarizes the stimulating and promoting elements.

1. Introduction
The famous Canadian writer Alice Munro, who was born on July 10, 1931, in the small rural town of Wingham, Ontario, is widely regarded as one of the most popular short-story writers, not just in Canada but in many other English-speaking countries around the world. She is the first Canadian who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 2013. Also she has ever won many awards including three Governor-General’s awards, two Giller Prizes and so on. Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly and other famous publications, and her opuses have even been translated into thirteen languages. Therefore, Munro is considered as one of the most influential fiction writers all over the world.
