摘要

文化负载词，涵盖了一个民族特定的文化内涵,反映了该民族的思维方式、价值观、风土人情等特点。文化如水，润物无声，为助力中国文化“走出去”,文学作品的对外翻译日益成为学界关注的焦点。热销海内外的中国作家余华的作品《活着》跨越不同时期，对于书中包含的众多文化负载词，译者是如何采取相应的翻译策略，值得学者深入探究。然而，我们往往很难在另一语言中找到与其完全吻合的词汇或将其精准地翻译。随后，乔治·斯坦纳提出“阐释的运作”这一论述可为译者在翻译文化负载词时提供新的思绪。以其翻译四步骤为理论引导，能够在一定程度上协助译者为源语言找到更加适宜、更加精确的译文。

通过对文献和各种资料的学习，笔者发现学界对《活着》的翻译研究主要集中在从意识形态、生态主义、顺应论等角度对其英译本或其中包含的文化负载词进行研究。但还未有学者对其文化负载词的翻译策略进行深入钻研。因而，笔者将以斯坦纳的阐释学翻译四步骤为指导，推敲其文化负载词的翻译策略。通过分析案例，得出以下结论：为弥补在翻译过程中的文化缺失，针对不同类型的文化负载词，译者会采取一种或多种翻译策略，如直译法、意译法、归化、异化等，量体裁衣，尽量实现译文与原文的一致性。
