A Study on Cultural Translation in Children’s Literature from the Perspective of Reception Theory —A Case Study of Two Chinese Versions of Charlotte’s Web_英语论文

摘要

鉴于儿童群体的特殊性,儿童文学翻译在文学翻译方面具有非常重要的特殊地位。然而,相关的系统的理论研究仍相对较少,实践与理论不平衡发展。接受美学理论强调读者的地位,其中读者的主体地位和读者的期待视野是影响文学接受活动的最重要因素。本文从不同文化角度在接受美学的视角下比较了《夏洛的网》两个汉译本中文化翻译的译例,分析了以读者为中心以及关照读者期待视野的翻译意识,以期探讨接受美学理论在未来儿童文学翻译研究中的应用。

Abstract

Because of the particularity of children, children’s literary translation occupies a very important and special position in the field of literature translation. However, there are still few systematic and theoretical studies and the relationship between the development of practice and theory is unbalanced. Reception theory (RT) emphasizes the status of readers, and it holds the view that the active position of readers and the horizons of expectation of readers are the most important factors affecting literary reception activities. From the perspective of RT, this paper compares the cultural translation in two Chinese versions of Charlotte’s Web from different cultural aspects in order to analyze the importance of the sense of reader-centered translation and reader’s expectation horizon, so as to find out how to apply RT in the future study of children’s literature translation.
