从翻译角度研究《芒果街上的小屋》_英语论文

Text Translation: A Case Study of The House on Mango Street

摘要

众所周知，许多读者和学者都从不同角度对《芒果街上的小屋》加以研究。然而，令人遗憾的是，迄今为止，国内还鲜有从翻译角度对该小说进行研究的成果问世。因此，我想从翻译实践角度对该书加以研究，内容主要涉及以下三个方面：

首先，在熟悉作品时代文化背景，作者生平以及翻译理论的基础上，笔者将对原作部分篇章加以重译，并分析总结自己的翻译体会及认识。

其次，笔者将对比前人研究成果并分析总结。通过对前人翻译的对比研究，找出各自的优点与不足。优点加以欣赏学习，缺点辅以理论并推翻，从而提升对翻译研究认识。

最后，通过对作品篇章翻译的研究，提高国人从翻译角度研究文学作品的意识。通过笔者自己的翻译，提升国人对翻译角度研究作品的兴趣和理念，从而促进国内翻译实践水平的提高。

Abstract

As we know, many of the readers and scholars have studied The House on Mango Street from different perspectives. However, to our regret, few people have ventured to study the book from the perspective of translation practice so far. Therefore, I would like to study the work from the perspective of translation practice. The thesis mainly includes three parts as follows.

First of all, the author ventures to retranslate some chapters or parts of the book on the basis of a good understanding of related historical and cultural background as well as some translation theories; then the author continues to summarize author’s personal experience and enlightenment acquired in the translation practice. 

Secondly, through a thorough comparison between the retranslated versions and the original one, the author tries to objectively evaluate the merits and demerits of two versions in the hope of improving the current translation level.

Last but not least, through a close study of text translation of the book The House on Mango street, this thesis aims to raise people’s awareness of literary study from the translation perspective. By personally engaging in the translation practice, it’s author’s sincere hope to motivate people’s interests in literary study and promote future development of literary translation.
