摘要

身为其时代为数不多的双语作家之一，张爱玲以其对人性细致入微的体察和独树一帜的语言风格在国际上享有盛誉。她的早年成名之作《金锁记》经过数次翻译与改写，跨越中英两种语言的边界，并在翻译与改写的过程中产生了一系列文本。这些文字讲述了同一个故事，但叙事风格却迥然相异，引人深思。本文的研究对象是张爱玲的两部小说《金锁记》和《怨女》，及其分别的英译本《The Golden Cangue》（金锁记）和《The Rouge of the North》（北地胭脂），这两个译本均出自张爱玲本人之手。通过探究两部小说分别的女主人公——曹七巧和柴银娣的人生际遇，我们或许能一窥改写与翻译在塑造人物形象、改变作品风格上起到的深刻作用。
