摘要
本文旨在从方法的角度分析电影片名的翻译,希望细化应用程序区域的功能主义和找到一个理论指导电影片名的翻译。在改革开放以来,视听文化在文化的对外交流中起到了越来越重要的作用。现在越来越多的外国电影显示在屏幕上,越来越多的中国电影出口到国外,这引发了影视翻译的繁荣。虽然影视翻译在过去两到三年已经迅速发展,但是内容的翻译被大多数学者注意,即视听翻译。作为电影翻译中一个特殊的和重要的一部分,电影片名翻译是一个需要探索的领域。到目前为止,一些实用的翻译原则已经提供给了译者们。事实上,电影片名翻译是一种有目的的活动。在分析基本策略翻译的电影片名,译者应采取特殊的电影作品的片名翻译的目的考虑。

Abstract
This thesis aims to analyze the translation of film titles from the methods in the hope of elaboration the application area of functionalism and find a guiding theory for film title translation between English and Chinese. Over the past years of reform and opening up, audiovisual culture has held a very important position in the cultural exchanges with foreign countries. Nowadays more and more foreign movies are shown on the screen and more and more Chinese movies are exported to foreign countries, which gives rise to the prosperity of film translation. Although film translation has been developing quickly in the past two or three decades, most attention was given to the content translation, that is, audiovisual translation. Being a special and significant part of film translation, film title translation is a far less explored field. Up to now, few have ever offered a practical principle for translators. In fact, film title translation is a purposeful activity. When analyzing the basic strategy of the translation of film titles, translators should take the special purposes of film title translation into consideration.

1. Introduction
Nowadays cultural relations between all nationalities in the world are very complicated. Since the reform and opening up, more and more foreign films, especially Hollywood films have been introduced to China. Movie has its unique charm, it is not only the way of people’s entertainment, but also play the role of culture communication. At the same time, the study of all aspects of the film has flourished. But as a special and important part of the movie title, its research is relatively weak and title translation study is few. This paper of film title translation methods is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction to tell the readers the main theme of this title. The second part is the current situation and problems of film titles translation. The third part mainly introduces film title translation methods about literal translation, liberal translation and transliteration. The fourth is comparison of Translations of English Film Titles in Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The last part is summary of the full text. Due to Chinese-English culture differences, film title translation is not simple. Film titles for movies often can make the finishing point affect, it can not only highlight the content, theme information communicated, and establish the emotional tone of film, but also can attract the audience and increase film box office earnings. Film translation should not only have a certain cultural quality, good commercial effect; and faithful to the original, but also conform to the domestic audience's language cultural habits and aesthetic temperament. Translators should consider the meaning of the primitive, the raw content and cultural information in the original language and target language. The author believes that with the further development of cultural communication, more and more close to the original view of the outstanding translation will appear in front of audiences.
