摘  要

体育是社会文明的象征。2008年北京奥运会的成功举办，极大地激起了大众的热情。体育新闻作为人们了解体育的重要信息来源，在新闻报道中的地位也是举足轻重的。英语体育新闻是新闻中的一种特殊文体，除了具有一般新闻所共有的特点外，也呈现出其独有的语言特色，如使用体育专业术语、缩略词、活泼幽默的文风等。在对英语体育新闻进行翻译时，考虑到其专业性以及阅读人群的性质，选择合适的翻译策略和技巧十分重要。本文主要采用描述性研究法，文献检索法，例证法进行研究。在前人研究基础上将结合实例，对英语体育新闻的语言特征及其翻译策略进行分析探讨，对英语体育新闻有更深的认识，减少阅读中的障碍，准确理解新闻所要传递的信息，进而促进不同国家民族之间体育信息的交流和发展。

Abstract

Sports is the symbol of social civilization. The successful hosting of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has greatly aroused people’s enthusiasm. Sports news is considered as an important source for people to appreciate sports, which also plays a significant role in news coverage. English sports news is a writing style that illustrates the common features of news writing at large and its own distinctive characteristics, such as sports terminology, acronym, humorous language style, etc. When it comes to English sports news translation, its professionalism and the nature of readers should be taken into consideration so that selecting the appropriate translation strategies and techniques are very important. In this paper, the author makes a research through descriptive research, literature search and illustrations. The thesis analyzes the language characteristics and translation skills of English sports news combined with examples on the basis of previous studies, which aims to have a much deeper understanding of English sports news, reducing the barriers in reading, accurately comprehending the sports message that the news intends to deliver, eventually promoting the exchange and development of sports information among different nations.
