摘要

跨文化交际是指具有不同文化背景的人们之间的交际。在跨文化交际中,由于中西文化的差异, 对礼貌原则的理解不同, 礼貌用语使用习惯和规范的不同, 会导致在跨文化交际中产生障碍和误解, 造成礼貌用语语用失误。本文对英汉礼貌用语失误历史和现状进行了研究，并参照中、英语言学家对各自语言礼貌准则的见解,对礼貌用语失误下定义，进行分类，以及原因分析，进而对之进行深入分析,再结合生活实例，适当地提出一些纠正和建议，以便于国家间人们更好得进行交流。

Abstract

The cross-cultural communication refers to the communication between people with different cultural background. In the cross-cultural communication, due to the differences between Chinese and western culture, the different understanding of the politeness principle, different habits of using politeness language and different specification，there will be many obstacles and misunderstandings, resulting in the pragmatic failure. This paper makes a research of the history and Status quo of the politeness language failures between English and Chinese. Then according to some views of English and Chinese linguists about the politeness language principles, the writer of paper gives a definition, makes a classification and makes an analysis of causes, and makes a deep analysis on it then unify the concrete example in the daily life and put forward some corrections and suggestions properly, so that people can better communicate with people from other countries.
