Analysis on Translation of Address Terms in The Scholars from the Perspective of Functional Approaches_英语论文

摘要

《儒林外史》是吴敬梓的代表作，被誉为中国古代讽刺文学巅峰。作品中运用了大量称谓语，反映了中国民俗文化的博大精深。但大量称谓语的使用给译者的翻译工作带来了相当大的困难，得体、通顺的翻译将有助于人们对中国传统文化的认识。

本文从功能翻译理论角度出发，以杨宪益和戴乃迭合译的《儒林外史》英译本为文本基础，探讨称谓语的翻译如何达到文化认知的统一。研究认为译者进行翻译工作时，需要着重注意单词在源语和目的语中的功能。结合特定语境采用合适的策略，使读者在阅读时既能体会到作品鲜明的地域特征，同时又能最大限度地保留作品的文化特殊性。
