摘要

迪斯尼首次采用中国的古代传奇故事拍摄动画电影《花木兰》,1998年在全美首映后三天的票房记录就高达2300万美元，取得了全美二十大卖座电影的第11名。《花木兰》是东方传统文化和西方现代文化的结合，闪耀着东西方的共同魅力。
本文主要探讨以下几个问题：
花木兰的形象分析。花木兰身上糅合了中国传统的孝顺、智慧、勇敢、忠义等品质，影片同时不忘渲染花木兰与生俱来的自由天性和女权主义的思想。
《花木兰》将本土文化和海外文化巧妙地结合在了一起。首先，影片保留了中式风味，所演绎的花木兰仍然符合中国的传统伦理标准，迎合了中国人的口味。其次，将西方所崇尚的英雄主义、女权主义渗透到影片中，吸引了西方人的眼球。进而使中西文化完美结合起来，塑造一个不一样的花木兰。
影片成功的因素包括故事内容的创新、制作设计的精妙及成功的电影宣传等。这些方面值得我国在对外传播文化中加以借鉴。

Abstract

Disney uses the ancient Chinese legend to lead animated film Mulan for the first time. In 1998, three days after the first release of Mulan in America, record of movie tickets is as high as 23 million dollars, ranking 11 of the nation's 20 largest grossing. Mulan is the combination of Oriental traditional culture and Western modern culture, shining the charm of both East and West.
This thesis is mainly about the following issues:
Analyzing the image of Mulan. Mulan blends the qualities of traditional China, such as filial piety, wisdom, courage and loyalty. The movie also describes Mulan’s inherent nature of freedom and feminist thought
Mulan connects the local culture with the foreign culture ingeniously. Firstly, the film retains the Chinese style. Mulan is still in line with China’s traditional standards, meeting the tastes of the Chinese people. Secondly, the heroism and feminism advocated by the West is permeated into the film, attracting Westerners’ eyes. Thus the Chinese and Western culture is combined perfectly, and a different Mulan appears.
The reason for Movie’s success includes the innovation of the story, the skill of design and the successful film publicity. All these are worthy of being drawn on in the process of Chinese culture’s external spreading.
